Week 4: Loving Me Emotionally: My Emotional System

Updated: Dec 12, 2022

Dr. Monica Blied is passionate about improving the lives of people living with chronic medical illnesses and mental health conditions. She is a California-based Clinical Psychologist, wife, mother of 3, 10-year Lupus warrior, and the founder of Faces of Health Wellness Center in Claremont, California.

To increase access to mental health and stress management skills, in June 2022 she launched the “Faces of Health” mobile application and masterclass series. Faces of Health tech products were engineered to teach neuroscience-based wellness skills to everyone, especially people living with chronic illnesses.

Dr. Blied is a first-generation college graduate and have developed specialization in two areas in my private practice:

•Integrative care for adults with chronic medical illnesses (e.g., CBT, Brainspotting, EMDR, ACT, CPT, and mind-body Health connection and mindfulness training)

•Psychological and neurocognitive assessments for ADHD and Autism for teens and young adults

In her former role as the Program Manager for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, at the VA Loma Linda Medical Center, she trained medical staff in Motivational Interviewing techniques and helped physicians to optimize their patient outcomes by improving their patient-centered communication skills and engagement in the “whole-health” system. She now combines her clinical training as a health psychologist with her lived experiences as a lupus patient to help others learn how to restore mind-brain-body-spirit and community health, our “whole health”.

She has also served actively as a leader in organizational management. She has over a decade of experience on executive committees within the California Psychological Association (CPA) and the American Psychological Association (APA), as well as with the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (serving in various roles during former career in Marketing and Account Management). Her newer role (since 2020) as a Medical Advisory Board member with LupusLA allows her to continue serving the chronic illness community.
